Furniture Trends Showcased at Spring High Point Market

The design world unites in High Point Furniture Market, North Carolina, twice a year, creating a passionate hub of inspiration and innovation. Spring Market took place in April and will be followed by Fall Market in October, which we plan to attend. Today, I'm excited to share some major furniture trends and surprises 🤩 shared in our inclusive North American interior design community.

Return to Warmth in Wood Finishes

One of the most heartening trends this season is the return of warmer wood tones, which was always the preferred choice in the studio. The market was filled with lighter, natural blonde wood finishes alongside deeper, richer browns.

Colour Trends: Earthy Meets Dramatic

Muted earth tones that feel light and peaceful were everywhere! There were also some dark, dramatic colour schemes with black as the hero. The blues remain a prominent accent colour, with green making more of an appearance and an occasional red pop.

Texture Takes The Stage

Texture was everywhere in fabrics and casegoods. The use of cane, wicker and other natural materials was definitely on display, along with grass cloth and linen textures mixed with painted or wood stain pieces. Fuzzy, plush, nubby, or just textured fabrics in general, were popular in every venders' showroom.

Surprising Elements This Season

Every market event brings its surprises, and this one was no different. Nearly every vendor has embraced the growing demand for outdoor living, revealing their lines of outdoor furniture. Additionally, fun upholstery details caught the designers' eye, such as the decorative zipper on the back of a barrel chair by Temple, which added a unique and playful touch. Another unexpected find was the use of cork in both upholstery and casegoods, showcasing the industry's innovative spirit.

The High Point Furniture Market continues to be a critical event for design professionals, offering fresh insights and exciting trends that influence how we think about space and style. Each visit is a reminder of the dynamic and ever-evolving nature of design, and I am already looking forward to what the Fall Market has in store.
